Hiking holiday in the Venosta Valley
Whether you prefer gentle hikes or challenging mountain climbs, the choice of walking and hiking routes in the Venosta region is as varied as the valley itself. Particularly popular are the so-called “Waalwege” tracks that follow the former irrigation channels to various villages and viewpoints.
Hundreds of kilometres of well-maintained hiking trails lead walkers up to mountain peaks, idyllic pastures and alpine huts. Most of the huts and mountain farms offer simple refreshments and platters including, of course, South Tyrolean “Speck” and homemade cheese. If you prefer you can explore the Upper Venosta holiday region in the company of a local hiking guide who can take you to the most scenic spots in the valley.
Particularly convenient: the bus and train station is situated just a 5-minute walk from the campsite, which enables our guests to travel to and from a wide variety of starting points for hiking and biking tours using public transport.
